The premiere of the Verden Champion Auction was a glittering highlight of the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses. Eleven foals with excellent dressage pedigrees were presented in the glorious evening sun after the final of the six-year-olds and aroused great interest. The St. Emilion/Helium son Sauvignon (breeder and exhibitor: Lena Thoenis, Hanstedt) found a new owner for 60,000 euros. The powerful black stallion is a grandson of the Christ daughter Calimera, who shone in the family competition at the Herwart von der Decken Show on Monday.
Viviano TL achieved a hammer price of 45,000 euros. He also has the privately owned stallion Christ in his pedigree: his sire is Veneno, his dam is Hann.Pr.St. Chayenne by Christ (breeder and exhibitor: ZG Lange, Hagen). His family is also highly decorated, his dam won the Friedrich Jahncke Prize with two of her daughters two years ago.
The auction was opened by the Valdiviani/Sir Donnerhall son Van Neff (breeder: Christine Arns-Krogmann, Lohne, exhibitor: Sandra, Alexandra and Henry Neff, Frankenberg), for which auctioneer Bernd Hickert awarded the bid at 42,000 euros. 35,000 euros had to be invested in Flirtfaktor by For Romance/De Niro (breeder and exhibitor: Chris-Florian Witte, Hanover).
The auction organizers had come up with something very special for the finale. The auction of a pregnancy from the newly crowned Vice World Champion of Six-Year-Olds, Brandtbjergs Divya, was launched. It was an embryo transfer from the mating with the stallion Proud James. The bid stood at 37,000 euros in the evening. Bids can still be placed until Tuesday, August 12, at 8 p.m.
