The collection of the 51st Elite Foal and Broodmare Auction of the Hannoveraner Verband presented itself in excellent condition under the open sky. In the auction ring at the Verden show ground, the chestnut filly Daisy Deluxe achieved the top price of 35,000 euros. This price was topped by the most expensive broodmare, the six-year-old Ella Maxima, which was sold for 50,000 euros. There was great interest in Hannover's top young horses, resulting in an average price of 8,529 euros.
“The best comes last,” said auctioneer Bernd Hickert after the hammer fell at 35,000 euros for Daisy Deluxe, which was sold to a new customer from a Spanish-speaking country. With head number 118 the De Sandro/Vivino daughter (breeder and exhibitor: Michael Niethammer, Weil der Stadt) from the dam line of Nikaza entered the arena. Two weeks ago, she was awarded the gold premium as the winning foal at the show in Linkenheim-Hochstedten.
Number two in the prize statistics was the Von Und Zu/Sir Donnerhall son Vando (breeder and exhibitor: Torben Schulze, Steinhorst), who was secured by a rearer for 30,000 euros. The elegantly presented dark bay with excellent movements from the dam line of Jugendgespielin is a full brother to the privately owned stallion Sean Connery. Among the high-priced foals with first-class dressage pedigrees were Eldorado by Escamillo/Don Romantic (breeder and exhibitor: Gerda Stein, Großheide) for 28,500 euros, Va Piano TH by Von Und Zu/San Amour (breeder and exhibitor: Horn GbR, Westerstede) for 27,500 euros, Va la Vie by Va Bene/Quaterback (breeder and exhibitor: ZG Bechstein und Goeze, Celle) for 26,000 euros, Bee Honey G by Be Sure/Fürstenball (breeder and exhibitor: ZG Geldmeier, Stemwede) for 25,500 euros, Vigo TO by Van Gaal/Fantastic (breeder and exhibitor: Tim Oltmann, Achim) for 25,000 euros, Der Schöne by Despacito/Floriscount (breeder and exhibitor.: Sabine and Jan Fauerbach, Dornum) for 25,000 euros and Venena Dia by Veneno/De Niro (breeder and exhibitor: Hof Kleemeyer GbR, Sudweyhe) for 20,000 euros.
The highest-priced foal with jumping genetics brought colour into play: the skewbald Unique by Ulyss Morinda/Stolzenberg (breeder: Torben Wegener, Wunstorf) from the Galupka line aroused international interest. Long-time Hannoveraner fans and breeders from Andalusia secured this exceptional foal for 18,000 euros.
Hannover's top young horses were in high demand internationally. Around a third of the foals found new owners outside Germany and, with over 50 percent of the turnover, ensured an extremely satisfactory result for the 51st Elite Foal and Broodmare Auction.
The top price of the day was paid for the six-year-old Ella Maxima by Escolar/Numero Uno (breeder and exhibitor: Rhenania Pferde, Alpen), who was sold for 50,000 euros. She was one of three broodmares that enriched the collection. The Rhineland-registered mare is in foal to the Hannoveraner premium stallion Daan G., who caused a sensation in the Niedersachsenhalle last year with an auction price of 2 million euros.
