> Catalog Herwart von der Decken-Show
The young mares from Hannover and the Rhineland presented themselves from their best side on the catwalk at the Herwart von der Decken Show in Verden and gave rise to great visions. Champion Mare Jumping was Hann.Pr.A. Exquise. Hann.Pr.A. Vision L took the title of Champion Mare Dressage. "Hannover's breeders are on the right track," said judges Kai Ligges and Eva Möller. The half-blood sash went to Hann.Pr.A./Vet+ Vitschuna HM.
21 exquisite jumping mares competed in the free jumping. In the final ring, Hann.Pr.A. Exquise by Eldorado van de Zeshoek/Verdi became Champion Mare Jumping. It was another highlight for her breeder Johannes zur Lage, Bersenbrück. Last year he presented the Hannoveraner Mare of the Year with Lady Gaga. Hann.Pr.A. Exquise presented herself as a modern sport horse with a lot of scope. "She was the most complete horse and very dynamic at the jump," said Kai Ligges, who judged the mares together with Hergen Forkert and breeding manager Ulrich Hahne. The Reserve Champion mare was the already four-year-old Hann.Pr.A./Vet+ Ulriekora by United Way/Comme il faut (breeder and owner: Klaus Brandes, Asendorf). Her dam Hann.Pr./Leistungsstute Springen Comilkora is currently celebrating success in the 1.50 metre competitions with rider Jordi Sander. She has given her daughter spirit and energy, which she has already demonstrated in tests for young show jumpers.
Once again, it was a chestnut mare – often referred to as Hannover's Gold – who took the title of "Champion Mare Dressage". With the proverbial seven-mile boots, Hann.Pr.A. Vision L by Vitalis/Fürstenball (breeder: Günter Lindwehr, Alfhausen, owner: Hof Lindwehr, Alfhausen) travelled the triangular course and also impressed Eva Möller. Together with Arend Garrn and Ulrich Hahne, the successful dressage rider was part of the show committee that judged a total of 44 three-year-olds and six four-year-olds. "She is also very interesting as a riding horse, and we want to breed riding horses," she said. A bright future lies ahead of Hann.Pr.A. Vision L, who is also one of the first mares to receive the conformation+ premium: Her dam's full brother is Facilone FRH, currently successful at Grand Prix level with Helen Langehanenberg, a half-brother is the Finest son For Sure, who is successfully collecting placings at the highest level in Portugal. Hann.Pr.A. Vision L was presented by Nils zur Lage, who had already presented the show jumping winner Hann.Pr.A. Exquise. This means that both titles go to breeders from the Osnabrück/Emsland district association. One of the most colourful horses became Reserve Champion Mare. The strikingly coloured Valdiviani/Sandro Hit daughter Hann.Pr.A. Vida Colorida (breeder: Hans-Dieter Erfkemper, Borken, owner: ZG Vest und Rücker, Idstein) was not only a real eye-catcher due to her appearance, but also due to her trot mechanics. She has a successful half-sister in Finest Pearl by Feedback competing on S-level in the dressage arena.
The white and yellow sash for the best half-blood mare that had made it to the grand finale in Verden via the local mare shows went to Hann.P.A./Vet+ Vitschuna HM by Vidar/Intschu Tschuna xx (breeder and owner: Hartwig Mundt, Barum), whose dam line produces not only licensed thoroughbred stallions but also successful eventing horses.
The Herwart von der Decken show was the perfect setting for the Friedrich Jahncke Prize. It is awarded to the highest scoring mare family of the past show season. This honour was bestowed on the family of Hann.Pr.St. Fortuna W by For Romance/Londonderry, who, with her daughters Hann.Pr.A. Vita W and Hann.Pr.A. Velgra by Vaderland, took the win in Neuversen as an elite family. Breeders are Christa and Ludger Welling, Wietmarschen.

The breeding highlight is the Herwart von der Decken show on August 8 in Verden. Around 75 mares have qualified at regional shows, broodmare tests and free jumping competitions. The event traditionally begins with the free jumping competition for mares. In the afternoon, the dressage mares present themselves on the triangular track. In addition to the three-year-old mares, ten four-year-old mares who were not in Verden last year will also be taking part for the first time. This means that the somewhat later maturing mares will also have the chance to show their qualities in Verden.
Another highlight is the awarding of the coveted Friedrich Jahncke Prize for the best Hanoverian mare family of the past show season. Admission is free.
The judging committee consists of Hergen Forkert (Member of the Jumping Presidium), Arend Garrn (Member of the Dressage Presidium) and the Head of Breeding of the Hannoveraner Verband, Ulrich Hahne. The commission is supported by Eva Möller (Syke-Legenhausen) and Kai Ligges (Ascheberg).
